Arthur

Arthur was a speakeasy-inspired private lounge located on the ground floor of the Gansevoort Hotel in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. Warmly lit and intimate in scale, the 300-square-foot venue featured its own private entrance, bar, and DJ booth — designed for exclusive gatherings and curated events.

I developed the logo and full visual identity, along with grand opening collateral and ongoing event fliers. The creative direction centered on the idea of feeling “regal, but not stuffy,” a nod to the lounge’s namesake, Chester A. Arthur, the 21st President of the United States.

The identity incorporated gilded typography, rich red tones, and wax seal motifs to evoke heritage and refinement, while maintaining a contemporary edge aligned with the surrounding Meatpacking nightlife scene. The result was a cohesive visual system that reflected both the historic inspiration and the intimate, modern atmosphere of the space.
